The Vande Bharat train going from Katra to Srinagar is getting tremendous response from the people. All seats for the next 10 days have been booked.

According to railway officials, a long waiting list had been formed from the very first day of the train and now the demand for booking is increasing every day. Two trains are being run between Katra and Srinagar, but the crowd is so high that they are also falling short.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off this train on 6 June. Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express tickets can be booked from the website of IRCTC.

The train has two travel classes. The fare for the chaircar is Rs 715 and the rent of the Executive Class is Rs 1320.

6 days a week, two trains will run between Katra and Srinagar. These trains will stop only in Banihal, other stops will be decided later.

Two trains will run on the route. The first train will run from Katra at 8:10 am and reach Srinagar at 11:10 am. The same train will return from Srinagar at 2 pm and reach Katra at 5:05 pm. These trains (26401/26402) will not run on Tuesday.

At the same time, the second train will leave from Katra at 2:55 pm and reach Srinagar at 6:00 pm. The same train will return from Srinagar at 8 am the next day and reach Katra at 11:05 am. These trains (26403/26404) will not run on Wednesday.

Plan to start New Delhi-Srinagar train by August-September Katra-Srinagar train is the first stage of the ambitious project to keep Kashmir connected through railways throughout the year. In the next stages, there are plans to run other trains including Vande India from New Delhi to Jammu to Srinagar.

New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express is ready to start from August or September this year. However, the same train will not go directly from New Delhi to Srinagar. Passengers will have to change the train when reaching Katra from New Delhi.

There will be a security check here. This process can take 2-3 hours. After this, passengers will have to return to platform number one. The second train from here will leave for Srinagar. Passengers going from Srinagar to New Delhi will also have to go through this process.

It takes 22 years to complete the Chenab Bridge Project The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project started in 1997 to keep the Kashmir Valley connected through the railway through the railway through the railway. It took more than 28 years to complete.

Approval was received in 2003 to build a bridge between Bakkal and Kauri in Reasi district. According to the initial plan, it was to be ready by 2009, but it took 22 years to complete.

Due to challenges related to construction and safety, 2009 passed in taking approval by reviewing the project and design. Then work on it could start in 2010.

The bridge work was completed in August 2022 and the track laying started in February 2023. On June 20, 2024, the trial run of the train was done for the first time between Sangaldan to Reasi station.

India’s first railway cable bridge is also part of USBRL project Indian Railways has achieved another achievement through this project. The bridge built on the Fort Khad is India’s first cable stay rail bridge. This bridge is built at an altitude of 331 meters above the river floor. A tower 1086 feet high is designed to support it, which is as high as a 77 -storey building.

This bridge is built on the figs, which connects the Reasi district to Katra. Its distance from Chenab Bridge is just 7 km. The length of this bridge is 725.5 meters. Out of this, 472.25 meters part rests on the cables.

This entire project is also very important for the army. Defense and Strategic Expert Retired Lieutenant General Sanjay Kulkarni says, ‘Our strategic and military capabilities will increase tremendously. Arms, ammunition, ration border will be easily able to reach. Rail connectivity will also enable the army movement in Kashmir.
