Indian wrestlers are folded in the Sports Ministry and WFI’s battle.
New Delhi. Indian wrestler will be out of the second ranking series of the year in Albania. This is because the Sports Ministry stopped the approval by saying that the wrestling federation of India did not submit the necessary recommendation on time. Indian wrestler has been out of the first ranking series in Jagreb, Croatia due to differences between the ministry and suspended WFI. The Ministry suspended WFI on December 2023 but has been recognized by international wrestling. He sent a proposal to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on the occasion.
A source told PTI, ‘WFI sent a proposal on one occasion and was also delayed in sending the proposed name. That is why the approval could not be given. We are always ready to approve the players for international tournaments but it is necessary to follow the process. It is also not clear how the team was selected because WFI did not conduct any trials.

The second ranking series tournament will take place in Albania from 26 February to 2 March. This will be followed by the Senior Asian Championship in Amman from 25 to 30 March. Mongolia will have the third ranking series from 29 May to 1 June, Hungary from 17 to 20 July.
