Menstrual Hygiene Policy was approved in 2024
In November 2024, the Central Government approved the Mentrual Hygiene Policy. This policy was introduced to increase understanding about menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls and to bring changes in thinking and behavior. The purpose of bringing this policy was to remove the obstacles that prevent the students from coming to school during the Mentorial Bicycle.

A survey on the status of adolescent girls in India found that a quarter of girls do not go to school during a menstrual bicycle due to lack of toilet (Van Ezak et al. Report 2016).
