New Delhi. In the first Test against England, taking full advantage of the lax performance of Indian bowlers and loose fielding, England easily achieved a target of 371 runs and defeated India by five wickets on Tuesday, the fifth day of the first Test. Indian team captain Shubaman Gill also blamed the fielding. He taunted Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Gill further said, “It is expected that it will improve. In the first session, we bowl brilliantly. Once the ball gets old, it becomes easy to score. But when the ball becomes new, Jadeja should take a good wicket. Jadeja bowled well. He made many opportunities for us. When we are close to the next game after the back to back game, then we will dissect who will play the match.”
England’s Ben Docket scored 149 runs in 170 balls with the help of 21 fours and a six while Jack Croly scored 65 runs. Both of them shared a 188 -run partnership for the first wicket and closed all the paths of India’s return to the match. After this, Joe Root scored 53 and Jamie Smith scored 44 runs and brought the team to victory. England have taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series.
