Four bodies were removed by late night. The remaining two bodies were taken out this morning.
6, including 5 children of Mama-Bua, died on Wednesday evening in Mahmadabad in Kheda district in Gujarat. By late night, the bodies of four were removed. Whereas, two other bodies were removed this morning. After the postmortem, the bodies were handed over to the family and all were cremated together.
The sarpanch of Kaniz village said that the people of the Solanki family living here have been victims of the accident. Due to the summer holidays, his relatives of Ramjibhai Solanki also came here. On Wednesday evening, 6 members of the family went to bathe in the Meshwo River. Meanwhile, 2-3 people started drowning due to going deep. Other people jumped and all drowned to save them.
The rescue operation started from the evening continued till late night.
Two more bodies were taken out this morning Police and fire brigade were informed as soon as the information was received. After this, their search was started with the help of the people of the village. After the incident, the Collector, District Police Head, Kheda province and local MLAs also reached the spot. Even after several hours of hard work, the help of Nadiad Fire Brigade was taken.
The bodies of Bhumika Jadav (Age 14), Dhruv Solanki (age 15), Divyaben Solanki (age 22) and Phalguen Solanki (age 21) were removed till late night after five hours of effort. The bodies of Jinl Solanki (age 24) and Mayur Solanki (age 19) were removed this morning. Of these, Bhumikaben Jadav and Divyaben were from Solanki village while the other deceased were from Naroda in Ahmedabad.
On Friday morning, two bodies were cremated in Kaneez village. The remaining four bodies will be cremated in Ahmedabad.
