Actor Arun Govil is a BJP MP from Meerut today. He made a house-to-door identity by playing the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s TV serial ‘Ramayana’. He told in an interview to NDTV that which actor can play the role of Lord Ram on the big or small screen. He said, ‘Three-four people tried to make it again, but they did not succeed. I do not think that while our living, someone should try to make ‘Ramayana’ again. As far as an actor is concerned about playing the role of Ram, all the actors and stars present at this time are suitable for playing this role. Perhaps you can find someone outside the industry.

Arun Govil’s reaction has come today on the occasion of the second stage of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The actor played Lord Ram in 78 episodes in the TV show ‘Ramayana’, which lasted for about one and a half years. The show used to air every Sunday at 9.30 am on Doordarshan, which ran on TV from 1987 to 1988.
