New Delhi. Grandmaster R Pragyananda became India’s top ranked chess player in the live rating after winning the Ujchaes Cup Masters 2025 on Friday. With this victory, Pragyananda’s live rating reached 2778.3, causing him to become the world’s number four player with a bounce of three places. In this way he achieved the highest ranking of his career.
An important victory over Abdoustorov in the final round helped him equal to the two players with 5.5 points at the end of the round-robin phase. Arigasi drove with Arvind Chitambaram and missed the opportunity to make it a tie of four players.
