The trend of shooting in India, 400 athletes registered for the country’s first league

New Delhi. India’s first shooting league (SLI) is getting a lot of interest, in which more than 400 athletes have already registered. This information was given by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) on Wednesday. India, Croatia, Azerbaijan, United Kingdom, Australia, Grenada, Italy, Austria, Serbia, America, Spain, Thailand, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway, San Marino and Romania have been signed for leagues and this number is increasing continuously.

Expressing his happiness, NRAI President Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Dev said, “We are very happy with this tremendous response and registration.

The first season of SLI will be between November 20 to December 2, 2025, with a pistol (10 m, 25 m), rifle (10 m, 50 m 3 positions) and a mixed team events in shotgun (trap and skeet), as reported by the Technical Committee of NRAI.

At least six teams will compete in the league, which will be divided into two pools during the league stage. Players will be classified into four categories – Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior and Youth Champions – to ensure competitive mixture of experience and emerging talent.
