The censor board found the film objectionable for two reasons. First, its moral message-the story of a serial killer was misunderstood to the society. The second reason was ‘Red Rose’ i.e. red rose. In the film, ‘Anand’ always has a red rose in its coat, which was a symbol associated with the prestigious image of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at that time.
