New Delhi. Virat Kohli has thanked his old partner of the Indian team Cheteshwar Pujara for making his work ‘easy’ in the batting order. Both Virat and Pujara were a strong pair in the Indian middle order for almost a decade. Pujara, 37, said goodbye to his brilliant career on Sunday. He started his career against Australia in 2010 in Bengaluru. Kohli has announced his retirement from the Test in May this year.

Virat Kohli, popularly known as King in Indian cricket, wrote on Instagram, ‘(Number) four thank you for making my work easier. Your career has been fantastic. Congratulations and best wishes. Pujara started playing Tests a year before Kohli. Both of them added 3,513 runs to seven centuries and 18 half -century partnerships at an average of 43.37 in 83 Test innings.

The cricket world appreciated him on the retirement of Cheteshwar Pujara. The veterans praised his patience, determination that defined his Test career. Pujara played 103 Tests and scored 7,195 runs at an average of 43.60. He scored 19 centuries and 35 half -centuries. Pujara handled the legacy of Rahul Dravid’s number-3 with the specialty that he came to be called the real heir of ‘The Wall’. After Pujara’s retirement, the Indian team is still looking for such a batter, who can confirm its place at number three.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 21,301 runs in 278 matches in first class cricket. In this, 352 was his highest score. Pujara has an average of 51.82 in the first class cricket in which he scored 66 centuries and 81 half -centuries. Pujara last played for India in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against Australia in 2023 in 2023.

Apart from the Test, Virat Kohli has also retired from ODI cricket but he wants to keep playing ODI format. From all the stalwarts of the world to the fans, Kohli is still fully fit to play. Fans of King Kohli want to see him playing in the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027.
