8th Pay Commission was approved in the last meeting
The Union Cabinet approved the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission in the meeting held on 16 January. The recommendations of the Commission will be implemented from 2026. This information was given by Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav after the cabinet meeting. He said- The Seventh Pay Commission came into force in 2016, its recommendations will continue till 2026.
The 7th Pay Commission (Pay-Composition) came into force from January 1, 2016. About 1 crore people benefited from this. The Pay Commission is implemented every 10 years. It is expected that the Modi government will implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026. This will increase the minimum wage and pension of central employees.
Apart from this, Vaishnav informed that the central government will form a third launch pad at the Indian Special Research Organization (ISRO) rocket launching center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. It will be built at a cost of Rs 3985 crore. This decision will help in furthering the New Generation Launch Vehicle Program. Historical missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan have been launched from here.

What will happen with the implementation of 8th Pay Commission… Know from two questions…
Question: What will be the difference on salary with the arrival of the 8th Pay Commission?
answer: The central government brings the new pay commission every 10 years. Right now the 7th Pay Commission is running, its term will end on 31 December 2025. The 8th Pay Commission will be implemented from the year 2026.
The salary of the 8th Pay Commission will be prepared using the fitment factor of 1.92. Understand this- there are 18 levels of salary of central government employees. The basic salary of Level-1 employees is Rs 18,000 with a grade pay of Rs 1800. It can be increased to Rs 34,560 under the 8th Pay Commission. Similarly, in the central government, cabinet secretary level officers get a basic salary of Rs 2.5 lakh under Level-18. This can increase to about 4.8 lakh rupees.
Question: How much will the pension increase due to increasing salary under the 8th Pay Commission?
answer: If the 8th Pay Commission came into force in January 2026, then the minimum salary of central employees is estimated to be Rs 34,560. If you add from 2004, the first batch of employees who have completed 25 years in the job will retire in 2029.
Now suppose the basic salary of an employee of Level-1 has increased to Rs 34,560 after the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, then its 50% amount is Rs 17,280. Accordingly, the employee will get Rs 17,280+DR as a pension. However, it will be in the rare case that an employee remained at the same level till retirement after joining Level-1. According to the promotion and other rules, this level continues to increase from time to time. Therefore, the employee will get more funds as pension.
At the same time, the basic salary of Level-18 employees will be Rs 4.80 lakh. 50% of its total amount of Rs 2.40 lakh+DR will be received as pension.

According to the data of the Income Tax Department, Personal income from salary in the country was a total of Rs 13.96 lakh crore in 2016-17. After the seventh pay scale, personal income from salary increased to Rs 15.94 lakh crore in 2017-18. That is, there was an increase of 14.18%.
Economy: Demand and consumption grows According to DK Srivastava, Chief Policy Advisor of EY India, the seven pay scale since 1947 increased government expenditure, but the financial situation of millions of people also improved. Government expenditure in 7th pay scale is Rs 1 lakh crore. Had increased. This showed two changes:
- First- Money either goes to the bank or is spent in the market.
- Second- When it goes to the market, the demand increases rapidly. That is, qualitative effects in demand and consumption.
Vehicle sales: 14.22% increase in a year After getting the sixth pay scale, the sales of vehicles increased by 14.22% to about two and a half crores in 2017-18.
Home Loan: Increased by 11% in a year In 2017-18, banks distributed home loans worth Rs 1.43 lakh crore. It was 11% more on a annual basis.
Third launch pad project will be ready in 4 years
Ashwini Vaishnav said that under the Third Launch Pad Project (TLP) ISRO aims to set up infrastructure for the next generation launch vehicles (NGLV) in Sriharikota. Another reason behind the launch of this project is that ISRO wants to keep the second launch pad of Sriharikota as a standby launch pad. Also, it is also aims to increase the launch capacity for the Indian Human Spaceflight Mission in the future.
The structure of the TLP project is laid universal and adaptible, so that not only the NGLV but also can support the LVM-3 vehicle semi-revision stage and large versions of the NGLV. The third launch pad project is targeted to be set up in a period of 48 months or 4 years.
First launch pad made 30 years ago, second launch pad 20 years ago
The Indian Space Transportation System completely depends on two launch pads. First launch pad (FLP) and second launch pad (SLP). The first launch pad (FLP) was built for PSLV 30 years ago and is still being used to launch PSLV and SSLV. The second launch pad (SLP) was mainly designed for GSLV and LVM3, but it also works as a backup for PSLV.
The SLP has been working for the last 20 years and has successfully launched several commercial and national missions of PSLV and LVM3, including the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Now SLP is being prepared to launch the Human Rated LVM3 for the Gaganyaan Mission.
