When this shakti was swallowing this medicine with a spoon, there was an untoward at this time. As soon as he started extracting the medicine from the tongue from the spoon, he inadvertently swallowed. Since the length of the spoon was 8 cm, which seems that the spoon was small. After this the person was brought to Fortis Hospital, New Delhi where he was immediately investigated. He was admitted to the Emergency Department. However, his condition was stable. But the doctors immediately did her x -ray. This spoon was trapped in the upper part of the small intestine. This part can be extremely sensitive. If the intestine burst here, it becomes difficult to correct it. It was a matter of honor that the spoon was stable at one place and no injury was reached. After X -ray, doctors immediately gave anesthesia and started the gastrointestinal endoscopy process. After a complex process of about half an hour, the spoon was finally removed from the patient’s intestine.
24 hours intensive monitoring
Dr. Ramesh Garg, Senior Director and HOD of the Gastroenterology Department at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh said that the process was very complex but our team did it very successfully. He said that when the patients came here, their condition was looking stable. Here, immediate diagnostic imaging, including X-rays of his stomach, was done, which showed that a metal spoon was stuck in the upper part of his intestine. Immediate emergency upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was done in the patient’s anesthesia. The surgical team carefully took out a spoon from the patient’s stomach with the help of Foucasp. After this surgery, he was kept under surveillance for 24 hours. During this time he was completely stable and was discharged in healthy condition without any complexity.

Dr. Ramesh Garg said that this was a very rare and challenging matter. Swallowing a metal object like a spoon can create a lot of complications, especially if it gets stuck in the upper part of the small intestine, it could be really dangerous. In such a situation, diagnosis and intervention are very important. Our team took an emergency upper GI endoscopy with anesthesia and took out 8 cm long with great accuracy and did not cause any internal injury in the process. After the surgery, the patient was closely monitored and he was discharged in a stable state.
