Rishabh Pant is going through a bad form.
New Delhi. Navjot Singh Sidhu has said that wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant should pay attention to the basics in search of form. Pant was captaining Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. The IPL has been postponed amidst the India Pakistan war. In the IPL, Pant was struggling with poor form. Left -handed batsman Pant is the most expensive player in IPL history. He was bought by LSG for 27 crores. Pant failed to perform according to his price. Sidhu has expressed concern over his poor form.
Rishabh Pant scored just 128 runs in 10 innings this season of IPL. He could not touch the figure of ten times 5 times. He was once dismissed on zero while only one half -century came out of the bat. Pant came at number four after being dismissed twice in the last match of LSG against Punjab Kings. But chasing a target of 237 runs, he was able to score only 18 runs off 17 balls. LSG lost the match by 37 runs. He is ranked seventh in the points table with 10 points in 11 matches.
Here, entangled in Indo-Pak war, the veteran captain gave BCCI invad, said- we should get the rest of the IPL match here
Navjot Singh Sidhu said, ‘The problem with Rishabh Pant is his shot selection. You cannot get out of hardly every time. Perhaps this is the pressure of their own reputation that is suppressing them. And is not allowing them to rest. It appears – their frustration is clear. As captain, he often loses his temper. Which gives an edge to the opposition. Look at Dhoni – calm, restrained, not giving anything. Pant needs to change his mindset, especially for shot selection. They need to go back to basic things.
On the possibilities of qualifying the LSG playoffs, Sidhu said that his hopes are hanging in the balance. ‘Even if they win all their remaining matches. Even though the LSG wins all its remaining matches, but their bad net run rate which is currently the lowest in the table will harm their plays’ prospects.
