New Delhi: The new rule is going to be implemented from 1 July. Now Aadhaar card will be mandatory to apply for PAN card. The government has taken this step so that the tax system can be strengthened and the fraud can be stopped. Under this new rule, if you do not have an Aadhaar card, you will not be able to apply for PAN card. Therefore, people who do not yet have an Aadhaar card will have to make it as soon as possible. The government believes that this step will curb tax evasion and the identity of taxpayers can be made more accurate. So if you are thinking of applying for PAN card, then first make your Aadhaar card.
How were PAN cards made till now?
Currently, people can get PAN using documents like voter ID, passport or birth certificate. The upcoming improvement will make this process easier, in which the Aadhaar authentication will be included in the PAN application process through the portal of the Income Tax Department.
It is also mandatory for all existing PAN holders to link their PAN to Aadhaar by 31 December 2025. If they do not do so, their pan will be inactive from 1 January 2026, until it is re -active by linking. Let us know that this time limit has been extended many times before.

For this, the customer has to type a message in this format:
– UIDPAN <12 digit Aadhaar number> <10 digit pan number>
– Send this message from your registered mobile number to <567678> or <56161>.
– For example, if your Aadhaar number is 987654321012 and PAN number is Abcde1234f, then UIDPAN 987654321012 type the abcde1234f and send it to <567678> or <56161>.
