In Ganjam district of Odisha, two Dalit youths were badly beaten up on suspicion of cow-smuggling. Half of his head was shaved. They were forced to crawl on their knees, eat grass and drink drain water. Whose video is viral on social media. The incident took place on Sunday in Khariguma village. The police gave this information on Monday.
According to the police, Babula Nayak and Bulu Nayak Hari and a calf were taking two cows and a calf to their village. He was stopped by cow-guards in Khariguma village.

After the video of the incident surfaced, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posted on X.
He wrote, ‘Such incidents are becoming common in BJP ruled states because their politics is based on hatred and discrimination.
It is not only inhuman to make Dalit youths to walk on their knees, eat grass and drink dirty water but also the barbarity of Manuwadi thinking.
Every incident, which crushed the dignity of Dalits, is an attack on Baba Saheb’s constitution. There is a conspiracy against equality, justice and humanity. The culprits should be arrested immediately and should be punished severely. The country will run through the Constitution, not with Manusmriti.
Police registered FIR, 9 arrested
An FIR has been lodged against the accused at the Dharkot police station. So far 9 people have been detained, the search for the rest is on. Ganjam SP Suvendu Kumar Patra has confirmed that investigation is going on. Both the victims were treated at the Dharkot Community Health Center. Initial investigation also revealed that the objective of the attackers was not a cow-protection, but forced recovery.
