NIA produced Rana in court to take samples of voice and handwriting.
The NIA on Saturday (May 3) sampled the voice and handwriting of Tahwwur Rana, the mastermind of the Mumbai attack. Rana was presented before Judicial Magistrate Vaibhav Kumar for this sample. Many letters and marks were written from Rana here.
On April 30, 3 days ago, the court gave permission to take Rana’s voice and handwriting samples on the NIA’s recharge. Earlier on April 28, Special Nia Judge Chander Jeet Singh sent Rana to a 12 -day custody.
The NIA brought Tehwavur Rana to India from America on April 10 from America. On April 10, he was sent to a special Nia Judge Chandrajit Singh to 18 days custody. It was again extended for 12 days.
Tehwavur was arrested by the US agency FBI in October 2009 in Chicago, USA. He was accused of providing necessary goods to carry out the terrorist attack in 26/11 in Mumbai and Copenhagen.
The NIA released this picture of him after bringing Tahwavur Rana to India. However, his face could not be seen in it.
Court has rejected petition to talk to family Earlier, the Patiala House Court on April 24 dismissed Tahwwur Rana’s petition demanding to talk to the family. Rana’s lawyer Piyush Sachdeva had argued that he had a fundamental right to talk to his family as a foreign national. His family is worried about his treatment.
However, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had opposed this citing the investigation and said that Rana could disclose sensitive information. After this, Special Nia Justice Chander Jeet Singh decided to dismiss the petition of Tahwwur Rana.
Officials said on 26 April that the Crime Branch officials of the Mumbai Police questioned Tawwur Rana at the NIA office in Delhi. Rana was questioned for eight hours on 23 April. During this time he evicted and did not help.

He reached America from Canada and opened a consultancy firm called First World Immigration Services on several locations including Chicago. According to US court documents, Rana also visited Canada, Pakistan, Germany and England several times. He can speak about 7 languages.
Rana is a childhood friend of David Headley, mastermind of Mumbai attack David Headley was the mastermind of the Mumbai attack. Tehwavur was his childhood friend, who helped him to carry out the attack. Rana knew that Headley was working closely with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rana was supporting the terrorist organization and terrorists by helping Headley and providing financial help to him.
Rana was aware of whom Headley is getting, what is talking. He also knew the names of the attack and some targets. Tehwavur Rana was arrested by FBI in 2009. Rana was convicted for supporting Lashkar-e-Taiba in America. Till now he was closed at a detention center in Los Angeles.
On 26 November 2008, 10 terrorists of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out attacks in Mumbai. These attacks lasted for four days. A total of 175 people were killed in these attacks, including 9 attackers and more than 300 people were injured.
