The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is sending investigation teams to airports across the country after the plane accident in Ahmedabad on 12 June. After investigation, it was revealed that many big airports including Mumbai, Delhi have major security in security.
DGCA released the report on Tuesday. It said that line marking on the runway at an airport was blurred. These are made for plane landing and takeoff. Plane tires were found worn before takeoff at an airport.
In some places the documents were not maintained properly, then there was a flaw in the complaint book. The data of construction of buildings around the airports was not updated by 3 years.
2 teams investigate flight operation, security standards Under the supervision of DGCA Joint Director General, two teams investigated on 7 standards. The investigation was done after June 19. One team was investigating the night working in the morning. During this, flight operations, flight time, ramp safety, air traffic control (ATC), communication, navigation and surveillance system and prior to flight were included.
Strictness after Ahmedabad accident

This picture was taken a few moments before the Ahmedabad accident on 12 June. Air India flight collided with a doctors hostel. It is only after this incident that DGCA is strict about security standards.
Airports investigation found flaws, 7 points
1. Obstruction limit data update not updated at the airport for the last three years In the vicinity of the airport, the complete details of any height interruption (such as buildings, towers, trees, cranes etc.) are kept and its height data. This data was not updated on many airports. This data was not updated by 3 years at an airport, while new constructions were done around the aerodrome.
Why this data needs: The route of the aircraft should be completely clean while flying and descending. If there is a tall building or other blockage around the runway, the aircraft may be threatened. For this, obstruction limit data has to be kept. This data is necessary for pilot, air traffic control and airport safety standards.
2. Domestic flights late due to tire wearing DGCA investigated that domestic flight at an airport was going to take off. Then the bad condition of the aircraft tires was seen. These tires were worn out. It was sent only after fixing it. The report stated that the flights are delayed due to the tire wear.
What is the danger when the tire is worn out: The grip in worn tires decreases. This causes more distance to prevent the aircraft. If the runway is wet, the aircraft can slip due to worn tires. Tires can burst when a lot of load occurs during takeoff or landing.
3. Center line marking on the runway at the airport faded
The center line marking was faded on the runway at an airport. There is a white dotted line in the middle of the runway. This tells the pilot where the runway center is. This line helps in catching direction at the time of takeoff and landing.
Center line marking threatens on fading: The danger of wandering direction at the time of landing of the aircraft. If the center line is not clear, the aircraft may land slightly. Which increases the risk of slipping or going out of the runway. Especially at small airports, where technological guidance is low, the importance of the center line increases further.

On June 19, Air India flight AI388 (Airbus A320 Neo aircraft) going from Delhi to Vietnam was called back to Delhi. There were 130 passengers on the flight. Technical flaw was detected in the plane. After being in the air for some time, the flight was taken back to Delhi Airport.
4. Not entering the flaws of aercroft system in logbook
The aircraft technical logbook is an official record book, with a technical status of the aircraft before and after every flight. During investigation at some airports, it was found that some reports were not recorded in the book.
What is the danger of missing report in logbook: If no fault is recorded, the same problem can happen next time. The technician will not know which system had a problem. Unknown flaws can become severe emergency (such as engine fail, hydraulic leaks) during flight.
5. System in a simulator separate from flight configuration
Flight simulator is made for training of pilots. It shows the entire system, control, display and behavior of the aircraft like a real aircraft. Investigation revealed that a simulator did not have software updates. The old system was present in it.
How much threat from difference in flight configuration: The pilot will understand some buttons, liver or system in the old way. This can cause confusion to fly real aircraft. In the emergency, the pilot may get entangled and will not be able to take the right decision immediately. Configuration mail is a serious violation of the rules.

6. Thrust Reverse System and Flap Slat Liver Lock not found
During the maintenance of the aircraft, the work order was not followed. Such as the thrust reverse system and the flap slat liver were not locked. The thrust vomits the direction of the exhaust (gas drift) of the reverse engine so that the aircraft on the landing can stop quickly.
What will happen if both the systems are not locked: Thrust is opened at the time of reversal landing. If the thrust reverse in the air is opened by accidentally, then the balance of the aircraft is lost. The engine suddenly causes heavy load. At the same time, if the flap-slate liver is not locked, a sudden change in the flap position at the time of takeoff or landing can make the aircraft lift, drag and balance disturbed.
7. Vehicles were running in ramp area without speed governor
Many Vehicles were running in the ramp area without speed governor. Due to which their airide vehicle permits (AVP) were suspended, and the airide driving permits of the drivers were also suspended. The Ramp Area is the part of the airport where the aircraft parks, the ground staff works, the passenger boarding, the fuel filling is done.
What is the disadvantage of not being a speed governor: Trains on the ramp have speed governor. It controls speed. If a ground vehicle is running at a high speed and is not able to take a break, then it can hit the aircraft. The engine, wing, fuslage of the aircraft may suffer severe damage. Many employees work on the ramp. Deadly accidents can happen.
