Mandi MP Kangana Ranot honored 17 people and their families participating in Satyagraha during the Emergency.
In Manali today, MP and actress Kangana Ranot attended the enlightened seminar on completion of 50 years of Emergency. The event was organized in Katrai of Manali assembly constituency. Kangana described the Emergency as a black chapter. He said that on this subject he

He condemned the action taken on the Satyagrahis. Also said to promote Indian culture. BJP state vice president and former minister Govind Singh Thakur was the chief guest at the program. Banjar MLA Surendra Shori, Ani MLA Lokendra Loki and District BJP President Amit Sood were also present.
The seminar honored 17 people and their families who participated in Satyagraha during the Emergency. BJP workers of district Kullu also participated in the program. Plantation was also done on this occasion.
Govind Singh Thakur said- Emergency ‘Black Chapter’ On this occasion, BJP State Vice President and former Minister Govind Singh Thakur also termed the Emergency as a ‘black chapter’. He said that the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed an emergency in the country for her political selfishness, causing violation of the fundamental rights of crores of people. He emphasized that during that time the freedom of the press was banned and the people of the country had broken a mountain of troubles.
In a press conference held after the program, Govind Singh Thakur said that 50 years of Emergency have been completed and today is celebrated as ‘Constitution Satya Day’. He said that on 25 June 1975, Indira Gandhi imposed an emergency on the country, saying that this was done due to internal disturbance. Accusing the Congress party of flouting the Constitution, he said that the Congress always amends the constitution to protect its interests, which is harmful to the country.
