The Supreme Court on Friday said that people are betting and gambling under the guise of the Indian Premier League. We know it should be stopped, but perhaps you are in the misconception that it can be stopped through law.

She said that she would ask the Center what she is doing on the issue. For this, a notice has been sought by giving notice to the Center. The bench demanded help from the Attorney General and Solicitor General in the case and said that if needed, she would later seek answers from all the states.

Claim in petition- online apps are implicating children

The petitioner K A Paul has alleged that many online influencers, actor and cricketers are promoting the online app and implicating the children. Paul claimed that he had brought a petition on behalf of millions of parents whose children have died in the last few years.

Paul said that in the case of cigarettes, there were pictures showing loss of smoking on the packet, but no such precautions were taken in the case of betting app. Even former cricketers of the Indian team promoted these apps during the current Indian Premier League (IPL).

Talangana mention

Paul said that more than 1023 people committed suicide in Telangana, as 25 Bollywood and Tollywood actor/influential people have played with the lives of innocent people. An FIR has been lodged against influential people in Telangana, as the case violates fundamental rights.
