Indonesia Open: Lakshya Sen out, defeated PV Sindhu Nozomi in second round

New Delhi. Two -time Olympic medal winner PV Sindhu made it to the second round of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 badminton tournament by registering a struggling win here on Tuesday, but Lakshya Sen fell out in the first round. Sindhu defeated her arch-rivals Nojomi Okuhara of Japan in a thrilling match for an hour and 19 minutes in a thrilling match in the female single.

Sen presented a tough challenge before losing 11-21 22-20 15-21 from China’s number one Shi Yu Q in Men’s single match which lasted for an hour and five minutes. This 23 -year -old India returned to recover from a back injury. Due to injury, he moved away from the middle of the match at the Malaysia Open last week but here he performed well in the pieces.

Sen made a strong comeback after losing the first game easily and 11–17 in the second game. He saved a match point and won the game from 22–20 and pulled the match to a decisive game. But after this he could not retain his rhythm. The match full of mistakes between Sindhu and Okuhara was exciting, in which a lot of game points and match points were found.

Sindhu won the first game 22-20. The Indian player saved a game point during this period and made aggressive shots in important moments. In the second game, Sindhu initially took a slight lead of two points, but till the interval she was behind 7-11. He made a comeback and achieved two matches points with a strong cross-court smash. But Sindhu made constant mistakes, taking advantage of which Okuhara came on par with 20-20. The Japanese player finally won the second game 23-21.
