Actress Jewel Vasistha has filed a complaint against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap at Oshiwara police station in Mumbai on Monday, 21 April for controversial comments on Brahmins. He has demanded to register an FIR against Anurag Kashyap. Jewel Vasistha strongly condemned Anurag Kashyap’s statements in the complaint and described him as derogatory. He questioned the selection of his words and strongly criticized the filmmaker for the derogatory attitude towards the Brahmin community. In the complaint, the actress has also said that if such comments were made for other communities, they would not be tolerated. Jewel again said, ‘The statement made by Anurag Kashyap is very useless. What has Anurag understand the Brahmins? Will you give any statement for films? Will you say anything to the Brahmin? Had this kind of statement had been given to some other religion, the fatwa would have been released by now.

Complaint against Anurag Kashyap
A complaint has also been lodged against Anurag Kashyap in Anand Vihar district Shahdara, Delhi. This complaint has been lodged by a young man named Sachin Sharma. In the complaint letter, the young man wrote, ‘I strongly condemn the derogatory statement made by Anurag Kashyap to the Brahmin society. The Brahmin society has done the work of giving direction to Indian culture, education, religion. These types of statements not only hurt the spirit of the society, but it is an attempt to fragment the social harmony. It is requested that an FIR should be recorded on Anurag Kashyap for his statement.

Demand to ban the film ‘Phule’
Along with the Brahmin Raksha Manch, many stars of the film are criticizing him strongly. Angered by Anurag Kashyap’s statement, actress Payal Ghosh shared the post and said that he should stay away from Bollywood, the industry is happy without him. On the statement of Anurag Kashyap, there is a tremendous opposition among the social media to the common people. The Brahmin Raksha Manch demanded a ban on the film ‘Phule’ released at a press conference held on Sunday. He accused of humiliating Brahmins through the film.
