Suruchi’s father is crazy about wrestling
Suruchi Phogat’s father is a wrestling crazy. Indra Singh wanted the younger daughter to do railings, but after injury she went into shooting. The loss of wrestling proved beneficial for shooting. In the year 2017, Suruchi was admitted to wrestling in his village Sicaroli in Jhajjar district, Inder Singh Phogat, who is a sergeant in the 19 Punjab Regiment. But three months later, he had to leave the game due to the collarbone fracture. The family made temporary targets from wooden blocks at home and also bought a new pistol of Rs 1,60,000 for Suruchi.
‘He changed the game after fracture’
According to the Indian Express, Indra Singh Phogat said, ‘When Suruchi was born, I and my wife had decided that he would make him a player. He changed the game after the fracture. Since he liked all the games, it helped him to focus. In 2019, Suruchi was admitted to Guru Dronacharya Shooting Academy near former coach Suresh Singh in Bhiwani. Suresh Singh has been the coach of Manu Bhakar, who won the medal twice in the Paris Olympics. This academy is more than 60 kilometers from Suruchi’s house.
Suruchi’s father got a pistol of Rs 1,80,000
Suruchi left behind the Asian Games gold medalist Palak Gulia at the National Games earlier this year. Some money came from my savings, but many friends and relatives of the village also helped us.
