‘Hit films have seen 3 crore people …’ Aamir Khan said on the lack of Bollywood films, told this special reason

New Delhi: Aamir Khan is in discussion about his interview these days and in the meantime he has reached a session of Waves Summit 2025, where he has once again reacted to the falling graph of Bollywood. The actor said, the biggest reason in India is the biggest reason that Bollywood films are not able to achieve their entire box-office capacity.

During the session called ‘Studios of the Future’, the panel of the event discussed the reasons behind the Bollywood box-office struggle in recent times. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan said, ‘I have always believed that according to the size of our country and the number of people living in India, we have very few theater. In India, we have around 10,000 screens, and in the US, which is one third of our population, they have 40,000 screens and 90,000 screens in China. And half of these 10,000 are in South (South India) and the remaining half are in the rest of the country, ”he emphasized a huge difference in the screen between India and other major film production countries like America and other major film production countries.

He further said, ‘For a Hindi film, we usually have 5,000 screens. In the last few years, our biggest hit films have been seen by 3 crore people, which is about 2 percent of our population. In a country known as a film-loving nation, only 2 percent of the people watch our biggest hit films in the theater. So where do the remaining 98 percent people watch the film? ‘ Aamir said while talking about this matter. After this, Aamir said in detail about the problem, ‘I have always believed that there should be more theater in India. There are many big districts in India, where there is not a single theater to watch the film for the people. So I think the biggest problem we have faced in the last several decades is that we do not have enough screens.

Aamir Khan has raised this issue many times before. As a producer, during the promotion of his previous production venture ‘Missing Ladies’, Aamir had told how a deep story like ‘missing ladies’ does not fully reach the audience due to lack of theaters in many regional parts of the country, whose film is based on whose life is based. Talking about the work, Aamir Khan is ready for the release of his film ‘Stars Zameen Par’, which is the theme -based sequel of his 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par. The film is directed by RS Prasanna and it has Genelia Deshmukh along with Aamir Khan. It is produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao and will be released in theaters on 20 June.
