Actually, we are talking about Neem tree. The more bitter taste of neem bark and leaves, the more it is rich in medicinal properties. This is the reason that Neem has been called “Sarva Disease Prevention” in Indian Vedas, which means to cure all diseases. While the neem tree purifies the atmosphere, its leaves, twigs, bark and seeds also work as medicine in many diseases.
In a conversation with Local-18, Dr. Akanksha Dixit (MD, Ayurveda, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur) of CHC Shivgarh, Rae Bareli, said that the taste of neem is as bitter, it is equally beneficial. He said that antibiotic, antifungal and antibacterial properties are found in abundance in neem. It is also a good source of vitamin C. The blood of the body remains clean by its use and blood circulation is better.
Consumption increases immunity
According to Dr. Dixit, regular intake of neem leaves increases immunity and also strengthens the digestive system. At the same time, applying neem bark on the wound heals the wound quickly. Consuming neem leaves on an empty stomach in the morning also helps in keeping diabetes under control.
