Om Prakash was DGP from Karnataka from 2015 to 2017.
Former Karnataka Inspector General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was murdered on Sunday evening in his house in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. Police recovered his blood -soaked corpse at around 5.30 pm. He had knife marks on his body. Om Prakash’s son, wife and daughter were at home at the time of the incident.
On the basis of suspicion, wife Pallavi has been taken into custody by the police. His son and daughter have also been questioned. A senior officer told that Prakash’s wife had messaged the Watts app in which Om Prakash is walking around with a gun in the house and wants to kill him (Pallavi).
The officer said- It seems that Om Prakash’s wife has mental illness. Officers who reached the spot have questioned his wife.

Om Prakash started his career as Additional Superintendent of Police.
Om Prakash was a native of Bihar 1981 batch IPS officer Om Prakash acted as the state’s DGP and IGP from 2015 to 2017. Prakash, a native of Bihar, started his career as Additional Superintendent of Police in Harpanhali (then Ballari district).
He also worked as DIG in the Lokayukta, Fire Department and Emergency Service and Crime Investigation Department (CID). He was appointed as DGP of the state in March 2015 and retired in 2017.
