Gaurav Lal Sachdeva has been appointed as a member of the traditional wrestling committee whose term will be 4 years old. This is the first time UWW has given this huge responsibility to a member of India in wrestling.

New Delhi. United World Wrestling has taken an important decision. UWW has included the Indian style wrestling federation as a member of the world’s traditional wrestling committee at the international level. It is a matter of pride for India that Indian style wrestling is getting international recognition. The Indian Style Wrestling Federation (ISWAI), which has given international recognition of Indian style wrestling internationally, has been trying to recognize internationally for the past several years. As a result of this, the World Wrestling Association appointed Gaurav Roshan Lal Sachdeva, the National General Secretary of the Indian Style Wrestling Federation from 2025 to 2028 as a member of the Traditional Wrestling Committee (UWW Traditional Committee). This is the first time that UWW has entrusted this huge responsibility to a member of the country in wrestling.
UWW General Secretary Mr. Carlos Roy recently stated in the official manifesto that the traditional committee of World Wrestling includes India with representatives from 8 countries including America, China, Iran, Turkish, Netherlands, Kazakhistan and Senegal along with India. Which will play an important role in increasing the trend of traditional wrestling all over the world. This committee will take charge till the Olympic Games to be held in the US country of 2028.
