Akash Deep Surpasses Chetan Sharma: Akashdeep created a furore with 10 wickets in the Birmingham Test in England. He took the big record of former fast bowler Chetan Sharma.

Akash Deep has made a comeback in the Indian Test team. The bowler, who performed the average on the tour of Australia, wreaked havoc in the second match against England. Along with taking his first five wickets, he took a befitting reply to critics with Mohammad Siraj with 10 wickets in the match.

Akashdeep took 4 wickets in the first innings of the Birmingham Test, while in the second innings he made history with 6 wickets. Akash Deep became the best bowling Indian in a Test in England. He broke the 39 -year -old record of Chetan Sharma.

On the tour of England, Chetan Sharma took 10 wickets in the Birmingham Test in 1986. Akashdeep has become the second Indian to do this feat on this ground. He has left the former veteran behind by just 1 run. Chetan Sharma took 10 wickets for 188 runs while Akashdeep has done this feat by spending 187 runs.

6 wickets for 99 runs of Akash Deep are the seventh best figures of an Indian bowler in an innings. Akash became the eighth Indian to take six wickets in an innings in the Test in England. Before him, this feat was done by Bishan Singh Bedi, Amar Singh, BS Chandrashekhar, Chetan Sharma, Dilip Doshi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Siraj.

In England, Jasprit Bumrah took 9 wickets for 110 runs during the Nottingham Test match in 2021 but he could not do 10 wickets. Former fast bowler Zaheer Khan took 9 wickets for 134 runs in the 2007 Nottingham Test.
