Ajmer’s Anshu Verma won the 165 kg deadlift and qualified for Asian Championship

Anshu Verma, who hails from Ajmer district of Rajasthan, has set a new national record by winning the gold medal by winning 165 kg in the 52 kg category in the Senior National Open Classic Powerlifting Championship 2025 held in Phagwara, Punjab.

Apart from this, Anshu also won the silver medal by performing brilliantly in overall powerlifting. With this historic victory, Anshu has made his place for the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2025. Ansh Verma’s success has increased the value of Ajmer.

Mother encouraged
National player Anshu Verma said that she believes her ideal to her mother. She used to box in Ajmer and has been doing powerlifting since last year.
