A study has revealed that only three minutes of light activity a day can also contribute to improve heart health in elderly people. Earlier studies have proved that as soon as people grow up, they are not very active in physical activities, which can increase them cardiovascular problems.
Researchers in UK and Australia found in a new study that even small things like daily work or shopping of the house also increase physical activity and can promote health. Contingency physical activity (IPA) includes daily life activities and this includes preparing food, keeping the house clean, lawn grass or gardening.
Researchers at the University of Sydney said, “Heart diseases can be relieved through daily IPA or light-hearted activities. It can be very beneficial especially for those who are unable to exercise properly.”
According to the study published in the Journal Circulation, the team analyzed data of 24,139 people. These people tied monitors on the wrist, so that their activities could be tracked. These were people who did not exercise. The figures of these people were compared to those who regularly performed moderately physical activity, and were also done to those who were more or less active.
The study found that people who used to do a little moderately physical activities daily were less at risk of having cardiovascular disease or dying from it. In particular, the team found that those who lived moderately active for at least three minutes a day used to reduce the chances of heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular phenomena. Researchers said that it is necessary that every day an attempt should be made to do physical activity for a while.
