Siddharth Majumdar was stranded inside the headquarters since the night of 21 April. Majumdar is to appear in the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday in connection with the hearing related to presenting the OMR sheet of the 2016 SSC recruitment exam.

The protesting teachers are demanding to make the list of candidates public.

On April 3, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Kolkata High Court associated with the scam. The High Court had canceled the recruitment of 25,753 teachers, calling the 2016 teacher and staff recruitment as illegal.

Mamta Banerjee asked teachers to return to work

The Supreme Court had extended the job of dismissed teachers found untreated after the CBI investigation on 17 April till 31 December. Mamta Banerjee said that the state government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court and appealed to the teachers to maintain trust.

Mamta said- I have spoken about this many times since last night. A review petition will also be filed in the Supreme Court for Group C and Group D employees who have lost jobs.

The protesters protested by playing empty bottles and raising slogans. He says that the Commission is constantly lying and the assurance of Education Minister Bratya Basu is just a deception. One teacher said- I served seven years, and now I was called disqualified. My daughter needs kidney treatment every month, now nothing is left to save her.

BJP MP Abhijeet Gangopadhyay alleged that Basu is trying to mislead the teachers. He said, “Candidates are only demanding transparency in the recruitment process. Difference between guilty and innocent candidates will not be a contempt of court. I urge the teachers to continue the peaceful agitation until they get justice.”

West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar said, “BJP’s stance is clear. BJP wants those who are qualified, those who are unqualified will not get a job. Those who have stolen should not be sent to jail. The problem cannot be resolved until the culprits are sent to jail.”

R.G. West Bengal Junior Doctors Front, who was ahead in the agitation that brought justice to the tax hospital rape and murder victim, has also shown solidarity in demonstrations with teachers performing.

CBI sorted 19 thousand eligible candidates

A SSC official told Bhaskar that the CBI had recovered a hard disk from a former employee of Nyasa Communication, a former employee of Nyasa Communication, who conducted the 2016 recruitment examination.

The disc consisted of scan copies of OMR sheet. The server seized from the SSC office also contained some data. About 22 lakh candidates appeared in that examination. The 19 thousand names that have been decided right now have been prepared by the CBI by looking at the mirror image of the OMR sheet.
