New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in the process of implementing the IPL trophy parade and strict guidelines for celebrations after a stampede in Bengaluru. Last month, 11 people were killed and many others were injured in this stampede. Thousands of people gathered outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the first title of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The report included a list of guidelines, which according to Saikia, will now be mandatory for all IPL franchises who want to celebrate victory. Under these guidelines, teams will be prevented from celebrating within three to four days of winning the title and there will be a strict ban on celebrating quick or in a hurry. Now for all programs, pre -written approval from BCCI, and formal approval from District Police, State Governments and Local Civil Officers will be required.
Apart from this, teams will have to ensure multi-level security at all places and during the transport of players and staff, which will include security from airport to venue. The Karnataka government has already proposed a new mob management bill, which blames managers and provides for fines and imprisonment of up to three years.
