But you know that its story was written by Parmeet Sethi in the frustration and prepared the entire script in just 6 days.
Negotiations with SCREEN Parmeet Sethi said, ‘I wrote the film’ crook company ‘in Khunnas. There was just a velocity idea in my mind and after 6 days I had a whole script ready on that story. Aditya Chopra was the first to whom I contacted. As soon as I told them that I wrote another script. He called me to meet the next day and then we started working on the film.
Producer gave desired hero
After this, Aditya Chopra gave Parmeet Sethi an open offer to cast any star in his film. He told, ‘Aditya said who needs you? You just take the name, I will bring him. This was the time when Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were in great demand. However, Parmeet’s eyes were on Shahid, as he felt that Shahid could play the role of a middle class boy and a very rich man, as he needed a change in his film.

Shahid Kapoor agreed after refusing
Parmeet Sethi told, ‘I think Ranbir Rocket Singh was doing the film at that time. So he got out. However, my first choice was always Shahid Kapoor. I was really hoping to say yes, because at that time he was doing his father’s film. Initially Shahid refused, as he wanted to work on his father’s film, but when he read the script, he decided to leave his father’s film and do a crook company.

Anushka did not want to do the cast
Parmeet was quite happy with Shahid’s casting, but was hesitating with Anushka Sharma. He said, ‘Aditya conveyed Anushka’s name. He said that man is very good. You just meet him once. My sake Her image was like a very Indian girl, because I saw her in the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. I wanted someone who looked very modern, be impeccable and there should be a special style in it. But when I met him, all my misconceptions were removed.
The challenge was to find an actor for the fourth character
For ‘crook company’, Parmeet was a challenge to find an actor for Chandu. He told, ‘I found a lot but I wanted a boy who is young, fun and lovely. A boy who enjoyed the film. I discovered a lot, took many auditions. We had signed almost a starkid, but he was eyeing Shahid’s character and did not matter. Then someone appointed me the name of Veer Das. When I met him, he was what I needed.
