Why is BCCI getting gritty?

New DelhiThere is no longer left for the Women’s ODI World Cup, but the hosts of the hosts of India (BCCI) have not yet formed the local organizing committee (LOC) for the smooth operation of this ICC competition. The issue of LOC formation was on the agenda at the BCCI’s top council meeting held in March but no decision was taken at that time.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the initial program of the tournament to be played at five places from 30 September to 2 November this month. According to the Hybrid model with the BCCI, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ICC for all the competitions of ICC to 2027, Colombo will be a neutral site for Pakistan’s participation matches.

In a BCCI source, he told PTI, “There is no time limit to set up an LoC, but it would have been better if these things had already been done. In countries like England and Australia, LoC is usually formed a year before the event. Even the program is already declared in advance so that fans can plan.

The top BCCI officials were busy in the IPL organizing till June 3 and the top council is expected to meet soon, after which the LoC may be formed. He said, “As far as organizing the tournament is concerned, the LoC is the main body which is responsible for making arrangements for the participating teams. Needless to say that its role is very big.

India will host a woman ICC tournament for the first time since 2016. Then she also organized the Women’s T20 World Cup with a men’s tournament. It is noteworthy that there was a lot of delay in the announcement of the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup program played in India. The ODI Women’s World Cup will be held in four places Bangalore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Indore. India had earlier hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2013.
