New Delhi. In the final of Women’s Asia Cup Hockey 2025, China performed strongly and defeated India 4–1 and won the title for the third time. The match was played at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium in Delhi, where the Indian team started fantastic but China took full advantage of the experience and speed and put continuous pressure and finally won unilaterally. With this defeat, India has missed on quotation in the Direct World Cup.

India started the match in a great way. In the very first minute, captain Navneet Kaur scored a goal to give India a 1-0 lead. The score remained in India’s favor till the end of the first quarter, but China then grabbed its rhythm. While attacking the second quarter, China achieved several penalty corners and captain Oou Zicia scored a goal to make the score 1-1.

In the third quarter, China completely changed the attitude of the match. The Indian team lost the penalty corner in an attempt to play aggressive and China scored a continuous goal while attacking a sharp counter. Lee Hong and Chen Yang’s partnership broke India’s defense and Jang Ying and Jau Mirong scored decisive goals. India also tried to return in the fourth quarter, but lack of support and wrong passes lost opportunities. China scored 4–1 and confirmed the victory.

This was the 11th edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. India has been the champion of this tournament twice (2004, 2017). South Korea (1985, 1993, 1999) and Japan (2007, 2013, 2022) have been the winners three-three times. China had earlier won the title in 1989 and 2009, and now it captured the trophy for the third time. This time eight teams participated in the tournament. The top two teams of each pool from group stage reached Super-4. In the Super-4 phase, China won all three matches and topped them, while India scored four points from one win, one draw and one defeat and finished in the second place.
