After this, every month, the amount of 300 rupees will be added to the account of 300 rupees per day by calculating the days above 40 degrees. For this, these women will neither have to provide any evidence nor complete any kind of formality. According to an estimate, every year the temperature of more than 10 days in the districts of Bihar crosses 40 degrees. According to this, covered women can benefit more than three thousand rupees under heat wave insurance.

Heat Web Insurance was started in 2024 under the pilot project in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Then 50 thousand women of these states were linked to heat wave insurance. Women associated with this received from 1600 to two thousand rupees. This year, the states of UP, Assam and Jammu and Kashmir have also been linked to this insurance project along with Bihar.

Income decreases due to water change

Due to climate change i.e. strong heat or low rainfall, the income of women who live by doing small work decreases. Because on such an occasion, they either do not work or fall ill due to working. In such a situation, women spend more.

Especially women working in the open or installing roadside hawkers etc. have to bear a lot. To give relief to such women, ‘Seva’ has started this project with the help of international organization CRA ie Climate Resolution for All. The CRA collects the amount for help in heat wave insurance through crowd funding or donations.

Sewa started in 1972

In 1972, the famous Gandhian Ila Bhatt started a labor organization called Self Applied Women’s Association-Sewa for women workers of unorganized sector. Currently, 3 million women are attached to this organization across the country.
