New Delhi. Officials of the host ‘All England Club’ of Wimbledon (Wimbledon 2025) said on Thursday that the prize money of this Grand Slam tournament increased to a record 53.5 million pounds of about 6.23 billion rupees (6,23,00,00,000), out of which the winners of the singles will get three million pounds (about Rs 34.93 crore).
The winners of this year’s male and female class will get 11.1% more than last year’s awards. The players who lose in the first round of singles will get 66,000 pounds (about 76 lakh rupees), which is 10% more than the previous year. Wimbledon will start from June 30 while it will conclude on 13 July.
Last time Wimbledon increased the prize money to 50 million pounds (about five billion, 29 crore rupees). Men and women, who won the singles title at the Grand Slam Tennis Championship of the Grass Court, each player had received 2.7 million pounds (about 28 million rupees, 58 lakh rupees) this time, which in 2023 is more than 2.35 million pounds of records.
