Causes of sleep after eating
About 20 percent of people experience this which is usually called ‘food coma’. Its medical name is Post-Pranty Sommonalance or Post-Prat-Prat-Phatig. Its symptoms include sleep, lack of energy, difficulty in focusing and lack of mind. The exact reason for this is not fully understood yet but many reasons are considered. One reason is believed to be a natural part of the digestion process. After eating food, the body flows the blood flow towards the digestive system, which reduces the flow of blood in the brain for a short time and makes it feel tired and lethargic. Another reason may be that we are made to feel sleepy after eating food. In the olden times, when our ancestors used to eat and eat food, then they used to relax. This habit can still be made.

Some hormones responsible
It seems that there are some nutrients that lead to more sleep. When we eat food that contains more sugar or processed carbohydrates – such as white bread, rice, pasta, biscuits and cakes – then it increases the level of sugar in the blood. Insulin is released to digest it. Insulin takes the sugar out of the blood to the cells so that energy is found. This rapid change of insulin can bring fatigue. Most carbohydrate food leaves amino acids called Triptophans in the blood. This releases hormones called serotonin in the brain. It helps in getting sleep. Tryptophans are naturally found in some protein -rich foods such as turkey, chicken, egg, cheese, fish, dry fruits and seeds. If the carbohydrate is not together, the triptophyne is not absorbed well, but when eaten with carbohydrates, its absorption is more, which causes sleep. The amount of food also affects how you feel. By eating too much food, the body has to work hard to digest more, which can cause fatigue. A study conducted on fruit flies found that after eating too much food she slept more, even after eating less food.

What to do to avoid this
Registered dietician Misbah Amin, a spokesman of the British Dietetic Association, says that eating more fat food causes more sleep. It also affects the time of eating. The natural clock of the body that controls the sleeping cycle becomes naturally slow in the afternoon. If this is the time when the blood from the brain is going towards the digestive system, then you may feel very sleepy. Misbah also says that if you have not taken a good sleep at night, then you can sleep more after lunch. This is because your appetite controlling hormones are affected by lack of sleep. However, if there is frequent fatigue after the meal, then Misbah recommends keeping a diary of food, which helps you to understand which food and habits are causing it. Misswah says that first identify what you eat and tiredness. Do not eat too much heavy food as well.

Sleep even in these troubles
According to the report, if someone has diabetes or pre-diabetes, then even after eating it can cause sleep problems. After eating diabetes, the level of sugar in the blood can become unstable, which can cause tiredness. Similarly, if someone has an introduction about allergies or food, that is, that food is not able to tolerate the body, even after eating, there may be a problem of fatigue and sleep. In some people, due to lack of iron or vitamin B12, there may be frequent fatigue after eating. At the same time, sometimes the problems related to hormones such as thyroid being reduced can affect energy and metabolism. Due to this, fatigue can occur after eating.
