New Delhi: Filmmaker Om Raut has come into the limelight after a long time, which was trolled for his last film Adipurush. The filmmaker was very upset and the film was also a big disaster. But now he recently told that he is making the next film ‘Kalam: The Missile Man of India’ and in this too he is going to cast a South actor. He is none other than actor Dhanush whom he has approached in his new film.
Om Raut brought APJ Abdul Kalam’s biopic
Om Raut’s next film is the biopic of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and a famous scientist. He unveiled the film’s poster while attending the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. Raut shared his vision for the biopic of former President of India and aerospace scientist and also explained the reason behind taking Dhanush in the lead role. Raut thanked Dhanush for doing a biopic. In a statement, he appreciated the acting ability of the ‘Raanjhana’ actor and also mentioned what he brought as an artist.
Kalam will become a bow
He said, ‘Dr. While playing the role of APJ Abdul Kalam, it is necessary to show not only his achievements, but also his spiritual journey and teachings. This is the most challenging part of such a biopic. And I do not think there could have been a better option than a bow to make this spiritual and intellectual depth alive on the screen. They are perfect for this and from my entire team, I thank him for being a part of this important project. This statement was shared by the filmmaker’s team. Raut expressed his praise for Dr. Kalam and said, ‘Dr. Kalam’s teachings are contained in every youth. I had read his book ‘Wings of Fire’ while in college and I can say that whatever I am doing today and whatever I want to be, he is inspired by the teachings of that book. This changed my perspective towards life and that is why I am standing here today.
Om Raut is impressed with Kalam
He underlined the values and the importance of learns adopted by Dr. Kalam. Raut said that the late former President encouraged the idea of ’India first’ in his work. The director said, ‘I have always been deeply inspired by Dr. Kalam’s journey. According to what I have seen, his life was based on three major aspects. The first is education. He was a great teacher who gave great importance to quality education. The second is innovation, especially indigenous innovation. He encouraged us to develop within our country. And the third is flexibility, willing power to be committed to your purpose. I always wanted to make a film based on these principles.
Abhishek Aggarwal is the creator of Kalam’s biopic
Raut’s ‘Kalam: The Missile Man of India’ has been produced by Abhishek Aggarwal, who earlier produced films like ‘Atomic: The Story of Pokhran’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’. The script of the biopic is being written by ‘Neerja’ and ‘Maidan’ fame Saivin Quadras. Kalam: The Missile Man of India ‘Bharat Ratna will present the life of Dr. Kalam as a famous aerospace scientist, visionary, teacher and the eleventh President of India, from his simple beginning to Rashtrapati Bhavan in Rameswaram. The biopic reflects his leadership, nation building and integrity as he was known as the ‘missile man of India’. Dhanush, who is playing the role of a hero, will be seen next time in ‘Kubera’ (2025) and ‘Idli Kadai’ (2025). The announcement of the rest of the artists of ‘Kalam: The Missile Man of India’ is yet to be announced.
