Who is Megha Vemuri?: Born in Alfareta, Georgia and grew up, Vemuri graduated from Alfarta High School in the year 2021. He took a bachelor’s degree in MIT in Computer Science, Neurology and Linguistics and completed his degree recently working as a class pressidant. Megha is also associated with a student group in MIT which promotes anti-imperialism and revolutionary ideas.
Before enrolling MIT, he made an internship at the UCT Neuroscience Institute in South Africa and participated in many young leadership and science outreach initiatives. So far, Vemuri has not issued any formal statement about being excluded from the graduation ceremony. However, his supporters have held an online rally, in which many people have criticized MIT as censorship on political speech.
