New Delhi. Sri Lankan veteran all rounder Dasun Shanaka has entered the IPL. Gujarat has been added by Gujarat instead of injured Glenn Philips. New Zealand star player Philips has been ruled out of the remaining IPL matches due to injury. Shanaka was also part of the Gujarat Titans in the year 2023. He has been added to his base price 75 lakhs by the franchise. Two years ago, Shanaka played only 3 matches for Gujarat. Then he scored 26 runs. He did not get a chance in bowling. 32 -year -old Shanaka has joined the Gujarat Titans team due to international experience and recent form.
This is the second season of Dasun Shanaka in IPL. Both times he stayed with Gujarat Titans. In 2023, he did not get much opportunities under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
