WhatsApp is continuously working on new features so that the experience of users can get better. It has been reported that now the company is doing a new feature test, through which users will be able to do real-time voice chat from Meta AI Chatbot. This feature is currently available on WhatsApp android beta version 2.25.21.21 and more beta testers can be available in the coming weeks.

The aim of the new feature is to provide users to interact through Voice Command from Meta AI. It comes with a dedicated interface, which looks exactly like a phone call. According to WABETAINFO’s report, the chatbot window will have a wavephor icon, which will start a voice chat when tapped. This icon can be accessed from Whatsapp’s Chats tab.

To make the interaction easier, WhatsApp has also integrated these feature in the calls tab. That is, if the users tap on the Meta AI contact from the calls tab, the session will start immediately. No extra confirmation will be required for this. This design is for those users who want hands-free and fast interaction.

This feature also has a colps icon, through which the user can work in the background. This will be useful when you are using another app. It will act like a common Whatsapp call.

Users will be able to control their privacy and sessions flow. He can mute the microphone, closing the session with the ‘X’ button or switch to the text chat at any time.

Whatsapp has also taken into consideration privacy in this feature. Android’s system-level privacy indicator (Green Dot) will tell the user when the microphone is active, so that the user knows when Meta AI is listening.

When will this feature come?
At the moment, WhatsApp has not announced the official launch date of this feature. This feature is in beta testing stage and is currently available for limited users. It is expected that its stable version will also come soon.
