Whatsapp Image Download SCAM: A new type of scam is being carried out on WhatsApp these days with Stagonography technology. Such cases have increased rapidly in recent times.

New Delhi. Digital scam is not new on mobile but every day their changing methods are surprising. These days, users are being looted under a new type of conspiracy on WhatsApp. A young man from Delhi was overwhelmed to download the image on WhatsApp, as soon as he downloaded the picture, a melware cleared his bank balance on him. According to the report of Indian Express, 28 -year -old Pradeep Jain of Delhi received a call from an unknown number. After this, he received a message from the same number in which a question was with the picture of an elderly person, “Do you know this person?”
Initially, Pradeep Jain ignored it. But after repeated calls, he finally downloaded the image at around 1:35 pm. This one click gave the hackers a chance to hack their phone. A few minutes later, 2.01 lakh rupees disappeared from his bank account.
Money with fake voice
This amount was withdrawn from an ATM in Hyderabad. When Canara Bank called to confirm the transaction, the fraudsters copied Jain’s voice. This scam was carried out with the help of a particular technique of stagnography.
What is Stagonography Technology
Stegonography is a technique in which a dangerous code is hidden in an image or audio file. These codes are hidden in such a vicious way that even normal antivirus cannot catch it. In such a situation, as soon as you open that file, the virus enters your phone. This gives the access of your phone to hackers.

Nihar Pathare, MD of 63sats, said, “The word ‘Stegonography’ is of Greek origin. It means in ‘secret writing’ in cyber crime, this technique is used to embed malaware or secret instructions inside the media files that look harmless.
How to avoid such scams
-Do not download the file from the unknown number on WhatsApp or phone.
-Keep the Auto-Download Settings off in WhatsApp.
Keep updating the phone system and apps at the end.
