How to Track and Recover Your Lost Mobile Phone in India)

If your phone is lost or stolen, follow these steps; This will increase the chances of getting your smartphone:

step 1: Take duplicate sim. Go to your telecom service provider (Airtel/Jio/VI/BSNL/others) and request a duplicate SIM card with the same number.

Step 2: File a complaint with the police. In your nearest police station, file an FIR about the lost or stolen phone. Now you can go to the communication partner portal and block your device.

Step 3: Register on the communication partner portal. Follow the steps given below:
1. Go to the official website: https://www.ceir.gov.in
2. Click on “Block Stolen/Lost Mobile”
3. Enter the details of the lost phone’s IMEI number, police complaint number, Aadhaar address, an optional contact number.

Once the system is reported, the system informs the concerned departments, cybercrime teams and telecom providers across the country.

It may take a little time
If your phone is on and is connected to the network, whether it is SIM or new, then the system sends alert and tries to trace the new location or user of your smartphone. This process may take some time.

It is worth noting that you will be able to meet your phone’s missing report as soon as possible. C-DOT says that early registration helps the system to track the phone, before it goes or smuggled into someone else’s hand.
