UPI Number: UPI is number one payment address. This will be a number of 8 to 10 digits, which you can use in exchange for your UPI ID.
UPI is a real time payment systemThe UPI number can be a number of 8-9 digits or your 10 digit mobile number, which you can link to your UPI ID. By using UPI number, you can send or get money through any UPI app. If you understand in easy language, you can use UPI Number instead of your UPI ID. Just like now the money is sent by putting UPI ID (ABC@Bank), in the same way you can send and get money by putting UPI Number.
First of all, the user will have to create his UPI ID. After that, if they want, they can also generate UPI Number.
- Open your UPI app (eg PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay, BHIM etc.).
- Go to profiles or settings and select the option to create UPI Number.
- Here you can choose your favorite 8–9 digits number (if available).
- After confirming this number will be linked to your bank account and UPI ID.
- Go to the UPI app and click on Manage UPI Number.
- Select the number that you want to remove.
- Click deactivate/deactivate.
- Your UPI Number will be disabled immediately and no one will be able to use it.
