New Delhi. The Union Cabinet under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has approved the National Sports Policy (NSP) 2025 with the aim of changing India’s sports sector. The NSP 2025 aims to establish India as a global sports superpower, including the 2036 Olympic Games to achieve important international achievements. There was a support of different ministries, state governments, NITI Aayog, National Sports Federation (NSF), players in making NSP 2025.
Five major pillars of Khelo Bharat Policy-2025
2. Sports for Economic Development: Promoting sports tourism and attracting major international events in India. Strengthen sports building ecosystems and promoting startups and entrepreneurship in this region. Encouraging private sector through public-private participation (PPPS), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and innovative financing initiatives.
4. Sports in the form of mass movement: promoting public participation and culture of fitness through nationwide campaigns and community-based events. Launch fitness index for schools, colleges and workplaces. Promote sports features.
5. Connecting the game with education- (NEP 2020): Integrating the game in the school course. To provide special training to teachers and physical education teachers to promote sports education and awareness.
