Right in Indo-Wage Milk in Indo-US Milk.
Highlights
- America is adamant on selling non-veg milk in India.
- India will not allow it at any cost.
- No one will accept such milk in India.
What is non -veg milk
Cow is fed pure fodder in our country. Even most of the Hindus never feed the religious cow. But in the US and European countries, milk cows or other animals feed them by mixing meat in fodder. Based on the American newspaper and many other intelligence, it has been said that in America, cows are fed with boar, fish, chicken, horse and even dog and kit meat in the US. For protein, these people give cows to fodder by adding boar and horse blood. By feeding these things, it is believed that the cow remains healthy and also gives more milk. Although rules have been made to prevent the spread of diseases about animal organs in animal fodder, but in low -cost fodder, animal feathers, chickens and other things of animal are used indiscriminately.
Whatever be the Indo-American agreement, but the Indian government does not want to allow this non-veg milk to sell it in its country at any cost but the US is adamant and is saying that we will not deal with the business until we allow our dairy product to be sold there. India has said that if it is certified that milk is not non-veg, then we are ready to take but it should live up to our standard. When America could not win from India in a direct conversation, it took this matter to the World Trade Organization WTO. That is, a case was filed against India. India officials are giving appropriate answers there. India has refused to allow US dairy imports, citing its cultural concerns there.
Why India not approved non-veg milk
We all know that most of the population of India is Hindu religious. According to the World Atlas report, 38 percent of the people in India are vegetarian. More than the cow is revered for us, we consider cow’s milk and ghee emanating from that milk to be holy because we offer cow’s milk to God and light a lamp everyday with ghee. Now just think that if someone comes to know that the ghee’s lamp which you put in front of God is made of a non -vegetarian cow, then what will happen on it. Ajay Srivastava of the Global Trade Research Institute has told PTI to imagine the ghee that is being prepared is prepared from meat and other cows who eat, will India ever accept it. India’s dairy sector plays an important role in rural economy. It shares a stake of 2.5 to 3 percent in GVA in National Gros Value Added. If you look at it in rupee, the dairy industry contributes from 7 and a half to 9 lakh crores to the rural economy.
On the one hand, America is pressurizing India to buy milk, but on the other hand the reality is that India does not want to buy milk from any other country. India is the largest milk producing country in the world. According to the report of Animal Husbandry, 23.94 million tonnes of milk was produced in India in 2023 -24. 140 crore people of the country depend on this milk. 8 crore people are running their livelihood in the field of milk or dairy production. But the US is trying to sell us by producing 10.39 million tonnes of milk. Just think that if America’s milk comes to India, then what will happen to our milk. SBI has stated in a recent analysis that if we allow American milk to import in India, then India will have to bear a annual loss of Rs 1.03 lakh crore. Therefore, the Government of India’s stand on this is very tough. He has already imposed heavy duty on dairy products from other countries. The Government of India has already imposed a tariff of 30 percent on cheeses from abroad, 40 percent on butter and 60 percent on milk powder.
Stopped in Indo-American trade
India and America currently have a trade of $ 119 billion. India’s upper hand in trade balance is heavy as India exports $ 77 billion to America. US President Donald Trump is upset with countries around the world that his trade is weak in balance. On the other hand, other countries impose heavy imports on American goods, but we impose very little tariffs on their country’s goods. Unhappy with this, Trump announced a huge tariff against many countries. Up to 30 percent tariff was imposed against India. Later America wants to compromise all countries. India and the US want to bring bilateral trade to $ 500 billion by 2030, so talks have been going on between the two countries for the last several months, how much tariff should be imposed on the items. But America has stuck screw on the issue of selling milk, while India is trying to bring it to the knee.
