Mumbai. Walter Miris, who made classic films like ‘Sam Sam like Hot’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘in the Heat of the Night’ passed away. Walter was 101 years old. He won the Oscar Award in the Best Picture category for a 1967 film. According to a statement by Academy CEO Bill Kreer and its president Janet Yang, Walter was 101 years old and died in a natural way in Los Angeles on Friday.

The statement further said, “Walter Mirisc was a true visionary as a filmmaker and an industry leader. He worked as the president of the academy and the governor of an academy for many years. His passion for filmmaking and academy has never reduced, and he remained a dear friend and advisor. We give their love and support to his family in this hour of grief.”
