Guangju (South Korea). India’s wait to win a medal in the Recurve Archery of the World Championship increased. Because the country’s last hope of 15-year-old saga Khadke lost to the world number one Lim Sea-Hione in the pre-quarterfinals. Before the saga could understand anything, everything was over in the blink of an eye. The Paris Olympics triple gold medalist Korean player won the match 6–0 in front of the domestic audience without any hassle.

India last won a medal in the recruitment category at the World Championship in 2019. Then the men’s team of Tarundeep Rai, Atanu Das and Praveen Jadhav won a silver medal in Dane Bosch. For the second time, the saga, which is participating in a senior international competition, could not stand in front of a Korean player. Lim started with three perfect 10. The saga was able to respond to only two 9 and an 8, causing them to lose the first set 26–30.

The saga could not perform the expected demonstration even after this and in this way the Indian recurve archer returned empty -handed from the World Championship for the third consecutive time. Another disappointing performance of Deepika Kumari made the story even further confirmed, which was out in the first round. She has still participated in the six -time World Championship and the four -time Olympians are still looking for their first medal. She lost to Indonesia’s Dynda Choirunisa in five sets.

The performance of the country’s top recurve archer Olympian Dheeraj Bomadevara was equally disappointing. He slipped to 39th position after a poor performance in the qualification round and lost in his first match against Tokyo Olympic champion Mete Gajoj.

India once again got medals only in the compound class, including Rishabh Yadav, Prathamesh Fajy and Aman Saini’s historic gold medals won in the team event. Yadav also won a silver medal in the mixed team event with Jyoti Surekha Vannam.
