VI’s big announcement, high speed internet service is starting in 23 cities including Lucknow, Agra, Meerut

New Delhi. Vodafone Idea (VI) has started its next stage 5G rollout. Under this, network deployment work is going on in 23 cities, including Ahmedabad, Agra, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune, Surat and Vijag. This expansion will cover all the big circles of VI and it will be completed in a phased manner.

Let us know that earlier the company has launched 5G in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Patna. VI has achieved 5G spectrum in 17 circles. Users with 5G-enabled devices in new cities will get access as soon as the network is started. VI is offering unlimited 5G data on plans starting from ₹ 299.

Vi is taking help of AI for better series

According to the company, more than 70% qualified users in the current 5G zone have used this service. VI is using AI-powered self-organizing networks (SON) to manage its infrastructure and has partnered with Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung for integration of its 4G and 5G networks.

4G also strengthened with 5G service
VI Chief Technology Officer Jagbir Singh said that our 5G rollout is moving forward in a phased manner. We are also strengthening our 4G network. Along with 5G rollout, VI is also expanding its 4G network.

Since April 2024, the company has deployed 4G on 65,000 sites on 900 MHz band and pair over 56,000 sites on 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and TDD bands. These upgrade have increased 4G data capacity by 35% and 4G speed has increased by 26%. VI’s 4G network now covers 84% ​​of the population, which was 77% in March 2024.
