Virat Kohli, famous worldwide in the name of run machine, these days Indian Premier League (IPL) is showing stars to the bowlers of the opposing team during the day with his aggressive batting for RCB. On Thursday, even though RCB lost against Delhi Capitals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But, Virat has recorded another record in his name.

Virat Kohli became the first player to hit 1000 fours and sixes in the history of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s legendary player has played all 18 IPL season so far, he achieved this feat during the 24th match of IPL 2025. Kohli’s record came in the fourth over of RCB’s innings when he hit a skyscraper at Long on the ball of DC captain Akshar Patel and thus touched the 1000 fours and sixes, including 721 fours and 280 sixes.

He is at the top in terms of hitting the most fours in IPL history and lags behind Chris Gayle (357) and Rohit Sharma (282) in terms of sixes. Despite Kohli’s historical achievement, KL Rahul made headlines by scoring an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls, which won Delhi Capitals by six wickets over Royal Challengers Bangalore. At his home, KL Rahul took DC to the threshold of victory with his batting. Especially when DC had lost 4 wickets for just 58 runs chasing the difficult target of 164 runs.

Earlier, RCB scored 163 runs after the brilliant start of Phil Salat and Kohli. But the spin pair of Delhi Capitals Akshar and Kuldeep Yadav bowling put a brake on RCB batsmen in the middle overs. KL Rahul got the support of Triston Stabs while chasing against RCB. Triston Stabs scored an unbeaten 38 off 23 balls. Rahul shared a record 111 -run partnership for the fifth wicket. Which is the biggest partnership for Delhi Capitals so far. His innings included seven fours and six sixes. DC won with 13 balls remaining in 17.5 overs on the basis of this partnership.
